Why are you nominating this candidate?
As a young career concierge, Mark has had a long time admiration for the society of Les Clefs d’Or, in fact it was the camaraderie and relationship of concierge at the first Les Clefs d’Or Australia dinner that he ever attended that inspired him to become a Les Clefs d’Or concierge. It was a great privilege for Mark to be awarded the Tony Facciolo award in 2013 (New South Wales highest Concierge honour for up and coming Concierge), and this recognition only further increased his desire to eventually become a member of the society. Having watched the society from outside for a long time, it was a great honour for Mark to achieve membership last year after thorough preparation for the arduous interview process. Since this time he has represented the society in a professional manner and in a way that shows the true passion that he has for Les Clefs d’Or.
Describe the process you used to select your candidate:
For the first time in the history of Les Clefs d’Or Australia we had more than one candidate who was both eligible and enthusiastic about competing in Les Clefs d’Or Award (formerly the Andy Pongco Award). This was a delightful situation for us as a society to be in. So we naturally undertook a vigorous selection process to decide who would represent our fair country the best. Despite all candidates being of exemplary standard, character and morality, we needed to decide on one. Hence by ascertaining character reviews from industry personal, contribution to Les Clefs d’Or, a written examination overseen by our previous nominees it was deduced with approval of our executive committee to elect Mark Anderson to represent Australia at the forthcoming Berlin Congress.
